Man taken into custody after short standoff
HUNTINGTON -- A man surrendered to Huntington Police officers Monday night following a 45-minute standoff.
Cabell County 911 dispatchers said calls were received at 8:45 p.m. of a domestic situation at a residence in the 400 block of 9th Avenue in Huntington.
Those inside the house got out safely, but it was reported that the man had a gun.
At 9:30 p.m., the man walked onto the front porch with his hands in the air, and several officers checked the house before the situation ended. Traffic between 4th and 5th streets and in the 81/2 alley were blocked off during the incident.
The man's name and charges were not immediately available.
