Transition team hosts public meetings

Nov. 28, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Mayor-Elect Steve Williams' transition team will conduct a series of open meetings during the next four weeks to determine the issues most important to the city and its residents.

All meetings are open to the public and will take place in City Council chambers at Huntington City Hall, 800 5th Ave. They also will be televised live on channel 25 on the Comcast Cable system.

Last week, Williams broke his 14-member transition team into four committees and asked each one to identify the most important issue in it's focus area. He gave them four weeks to complete their work.

The schedule for the first round of meetings is as follows:

Finance committee: 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Economic development committee: 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30.

Public safety committee: 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.

Public works committee: 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
