Ky. man arrested on drug charges
FLATWOODS, Ky. -- A man was arrested Thursday on drug charges following a traffic stop in Flatwoods, Ky.
Carzell L. Palmer, 47, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, according to a press release issued by the FIVCO Area Drug Enforcement Task Force.
An officer with the Flatwoods Police Department initiated a traffic stop Wednesday with a vehicle that had been speeding, and, after obtaining consent to search the vehicle, the officer found baggies containing heroin and marijuana.
The FADE Task Force was involved in the investigation, and additional charges may be pending in the case, according to the release.
The FADE Task Force is comprised of officers from the Flatwoods, Olive Hill, Raceland, Vanceburg and Russell Police Departments as well as the Carter County Sheriff's Department.
