Boil water advisory remains in effect for Huntington area
HUNTINGTON — A boil water advisory for some 60,000 Huntington-area residents remains in effect until further notice, according to West Virginia American Water spokeswoman Kelly Gillenwater.
The advisory also impacts about 3,500 customers in Ohio American Water’s Lawrence District, which includes Chesapeake and South Point.
Gillenwater said the advisory could be lifted sometime this afternoon, but that is not definite. The advisory came as the result of a major water line break in the area of 24th Street and 1st Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Friday.
