June 30, 2009 @ 10:40 AM

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — More than $13 million in federal stimulus funding has been awarded to West Virginia to improve state buildings’ energy efficiency.

Members of West Virginia’s congressional delegation announced the funding Tuesday.

The funding will be used to improve lighting systems, windows, heating and air conditioning systems, boilers and other items in state office buildings, schools, higher education institutions, laboratories and armories.

The state also plans to create a revolving loan program to help businesses invest in energy efficient projects. A Green Collar Jobs Training program also will be created to train workers for jobs in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
