Bikers for Babies in Flatwoods, W.Va., next month
FLATWOODS, W.Va. — Thousands of bikers are expected to ride motorcycles to raise funds for babies in August.
The Bikers for Babies opening ceremonies will start inside the Mountain Lakes Amphitheater in Flatwoods, W.Va., at 9:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21. The ride begins at 10 a.m. and events will take place through Sunday, Aug. 23.
Individual riders and motorcycle clubs will hit the road to help support March of Dimes research and programs to help mothers have full-term pregnancies and give babies healthy lives.
Registration for the ride costs $35 per rider and $15 for passengers. Participants will receive a commemorative pin, and can also enjoy a post-ride party hosted by the Microtel Inn at the top of the hill in Gassaway. The event will include performances by the Road Hazards Stunt Team along with live music by Exposure, South of the River and Sean Patrick McGraw.
Registration takes place from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday Aug. 23.
