Two charged after hotel robbery
HUNTINGTON — Two people are behind bars following a robbery and short pursuit on U.S. 60 in Huntington on Friday morning.
Police say a woman staying at Huntington Inn, 4644 U.S. 60, entered the motel office and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash box. Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas said a short struggle between the female suspect and the hotel attendant ensued and the suspect got into a vehicle being driven by a male accomplice.
The couple fled the property and traveled west. They were apprehended in the 3100 block of U.S. 60 a short time later, the sheriff said.
McComas said all of the money except $20 has been recovered.
Both suspects, whose names have not yet been released, are expected to be charged with strong-arm robbery, according to McComas. They were transported to Western Regional Jail.
