Habitat for Humanity hosting applicant seminar Tuesday

HUNTINGTON -- Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity will host an applicant seminar at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, 216 Collins Ave., South Point, Ohio.

The seminar is open only to families living in Lawrence County, Ohio, and will include information about owning a home and affordable housing. A seminar in Cabell County will take place later this year.

To be considered for a Habitat home, individuals must attend this seminar and live in substandard housing. Examples of substandard housing include inadequate plumbing, poor heating, leaking roof, overcrowding (three or more to a bedroom), unsafe or unsanitary conditions, and/or paying excessive rent. Residents of public housing are also encouraged to attend this seminar.
