Health forum to be held in Charleston
CHARLESTON — The diocesan Office of Health Ministry is presenting a special health forum Thursday and Friday, Oct. 16 and 17, at Blessed John XXIII Pastoral Center in Charleston.
“Toward the Light: The Gift of Metanoia,” will commemorate the second anniversary of Bishop Michael J. Bransfield’s pastoral letter, “A Church That Heals.”
The keynote speaker will be Judith Sedgeman, education director of the West Virginia Initiative for Innate Health at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University in Morgantown.
Other topics at the event will include legislation, eating habits and addictive behaviors.
The forum will also include prayer services, opportunities for reflection and exercise and Mass celebrated by Father Dennis Klemash.
Registration includes both days of the forum, meals and lodging and costs $50 per person. The cost of single-day registration is $20 per person.
