W.Va. woman charged in 2011 fatal shooting
MULLENS, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia woman has been charged in what investigators call the execution-style fatal shooting of a Summers County man.
State police Cpl. A.S. Reed in Hinton says 38-year-old Linda Combs was arraigned this week on a charge of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
WVVA-TV reports her ex-husband and son were charged last week with first-degree murder in the April 2011 slaying of James “Bo” Butler of Summers County. His body was found in Wyoming County.
A judge denied bond Monday for 44-year-old Oscar Combs Sr. and 21-year-old Oscar Combs Jr. Investigators said they met Butler in Mercer County with the intention of robbing him.
Linda Combs is being held Thursday on $20,000 bond at the Southern Regional Jail. Jail records didn’t indicate whether she has an attorney.
