Church member reports playground vandalized
The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:
A member of the Crossroads United Methodist church in the 3100 block of Saltwell Road reported someone entered the church's property last Saturday and damaged $1,050 in playground equipment. The incident was captured by a surveillance camera on the property.
INFORMATION: An officer collected a total of 26 lbs. of prescription medications from the Pill Drop Box in the lobby of the department's headquarters last Friday.
LARCENY: A 54-year-old man reported someone took his road bike, worth $2,000, from the front porch of his home in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
BURGLARY: A 38-year-old woman reported someone forced entry into her home in the 600 block of Giger Street sometime Tuesday and took $1,400 in electronics, including a laptop computer and an iPhone.
GRAND LARCENY: Joshua Dale Ferguson, 25, of Huntington, was charged with felony grand larceny Tuesday.
A 26-year-old man reported someone stole his vehicle from the 2100 block of 10th Avenue between 1 and 2 p.m. Tuesday. A witness on the scene provided enough information for officers to identify a suspect.
The following information was provided by criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court:
BURGLARY: Larry Miller II, 38, of Huntington, was arrested Monday and charged with felony daytime burglary.
A woman reported that someone entered her home along Galesway Drive in Huntington on Aug. 30 and took two chainsaws, worth a total of $400, a Cabell County Sheriff's deputy said in the complaint.
Miller's bond was set at $15,000.
The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Nicole Paige Averill, 24, was incarcerated at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Mercer County charged her with a felony bench warrant. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Joshua Dale Ferguson, 25, was incarcerated at 1 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony grand larceny. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
