Inauguration set for New River president

Sep. 12, 2013 @ 07:13 AM

BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) — New River Community and Technical College will inaugurate President L. Marshall Washington later this month.

The inauguration is set for Sept. 21 at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

Washington was selected earlier this year to replace Ted Spring, who was named president of Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C.

Washington previously served as vice president of the Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania.

Beckley-based New River serves Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers and Webster counties.
