Woman injured during purse snatching
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Police Department responded to an alleged purse snatching around 11:30 p.m. Friday night at the corner of 5th Avenue and 10th street.
Police said the attacker approached a woman walking in the area from behind and grabbed her purse.
The woman tried to keep ahold of the purse after the man grabbed it and was then knocked to the ground. The man fled the scene.
The woman was unable to provide a detailed description of the attacker, but officers were searching the area for the suspect.
The victim sustained hip and knee injuries and was then transported to a local hospital by HPD.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
