Buck season too early on 2013 W.Va. DNR calendar
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The Division of Natural Resources says it goofed on the 2013 West Virginia wildlife calendar.
The calendar mistakenly lists the start of the 2013 deer gun season for bucks as Nov. 18. Wildlife Resources section chief Curtis Taylor says it actually begins on Nov. 25, which is the Monday before Thanksgiving.
Taylor says the calendar was sent to a printer in August and dates for the opening of various hunting seasons hadn’t been approved yet. The calendar typically lists dates as “due to open” and that hunters should check current regulations for accurate season dates.
