Randy Snyder/The Herald-Dispatch Actor Matthew Fox reacts to a reporter's question as to whether he approved of sending his daughter to Marshall for college. Fox said he didn't really want to think about his 9-year-old daughter going to college, yet. Fox also spoke about his portrayal of former Marshall assistant coach Red Dawson in the movie "We Are Marshall" during a news conference on Friday, April 7, 2006, at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, W.Va. Fox co-stars in the movie with Matthew McConaughey that tells of the 1970 plane crash that killed 75 people including members of the football team.

In 2006, the Tri-State was invaded by Hollywood.
For weeks, residents were able to watch some filming take place for "We Are Marshall," as well as running into actors about and out.
Filming began April 3, 2006, in Huntington and concluded in Atlanta on June 21, 2006.
The Warner Bros. production is an inspirational drama based on the true story of Marshall's and Huntington's efforts to rebound from the tragic plane crash on Nov. 14, 1970.
