Beckley police employee admits pill theft
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — A former Beckley Police Department employee has pleaded guilty to taking pain pills from an evidence room.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says 31-year-old Gabriella Brown pleaded guilty Tuesday to illegally obtaining oxycodone.
Brown was working as an evidence technician when the police department announced in August that prescription pain pills were missing. Brown admitted stealing 22 pills from an evidence locker. She faces up to four years in prison when she is sentenced on April 22.
