Food bank in Guinness Book of World Records
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Area Food Bank has entered the Guinness Book of World Records thanks to a donation from ViSalus. The record for world's largest donation of baked goods came following a 52,000-lb. donation of Visalus' Nutra-Cookies in September. The food bank has worked since then to hand out the 420,000 individually-wrapped cookies, which contain nine grams of protein, a full serving of fiber, calcium and fruit and vegetable nutrients.
ViSalus is known for its Body By Vi 90-Day Challenge.
In 2012, the Huntington Area Food Bank distributed more than 4.7 million pounds of food to nearly 100,000 food insecure individuals living in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.
