ASHLAND -- Four people were arrested in Ashland on Friday after Kentucky State Police discovered a package containing marijuana was being shipped to them.

Ervin T. Woods, 46, Kenneth D. Woods, 45, Curtis A. Maynard, 32, and Ashley D. Leake, 28, all of Ashland, each were charged with trafficking in marijuana, Trooper Michael Murriell said in a press release.

Troopers received information Friday that a package containing 11 lbs. of marijuana was being shipped to a residence in the 800 block of Batch Avenue, and they made a controlled delivery of the package to the residence.

Search warrants were executed at the residence, and the marijuana and drug paraphernalia items were seized at the residence. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the Woodses were the intended recipients of the package.

The United States Postal Inspection Service, KSP Canine Branch and Lawrence County Ohio Sheriff's Department Canine Unit Deputy Scott Wilson also assisted with the investigation.
