The day-long event drew more than a dozen students and employees to the Don Morris Room, said Kyle Kurtz, the volunteer coordinator.
He and club president Brian Wong said they are pleased with the turnout to blood drives in the past couple of years, as more people have been willing to give blood.
Wong, who founded the club a few years ago, said people who are able to give need to realize the impact they can have in someone's life.
"When you have a fear, think about what you are giving," Wong said. "You are giving a person another chance."
The club's first meeting of the semester is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the lobby of the student center.
The tentative blood drive schedule for the spring semester includes Wednesday, Jan. 23; Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6-7; Wednesday, Feb. 27; Tuesday and Wednesday, March 12-13; Thursday, March 28; and Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9-10.
The blood drives are held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and club representatives will be in the student center in the days leading up to the drive to sign up people. Appointments also can be made by going online to www.redcrossblood.org/make-donation and typing "MUHERD" as the sponsorship code.
