Officers were dispatched to an apartment building 1600 block of 6th Avenue for a reported disturbance Saturday night.

When they approached the building, they found the door to one of the apartments was open, and they found a man inside who claimed to be the renter of the apartment. They went to talk to the neighbors in the next apartment, and one of the people there proved to be the actual renter of the first apartment.

The man in the first apartment was taken into custody by officers, who noted the man had an unsteady gate, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes in addition to an odor of alcohol on his person.

A woman in the second apartment told officers she saw the man when she exited her vehicle at the building, and he began yelling at her and chased her into her apartment. She said the man banged on her door and screamed obscenities prior to his forcing entry into the other apartment.
