Man arrested after reported chase, burglary
The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:
BURGLARY, ASSAULT: Seth Owen Davis, 20, of Miami, W.Va., was charged with felony burglary, misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor public intoxication and misdemeanor obstruction.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment building 1600 block of 6th Avenue for a reported disturbance Saturday night.
When they approached the building, they found the door to one of the apartments was open, and they found a man inside who claimed to be the renter of the apartment. They went to talk to the neighbors in the next apartment, and one of the people there proved to be the actual renter of the first apartment.
The man in the first apartment was taken into custody by officers, who noted the man had an unsteady gate, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes in addition to an odor of alcohol on his person.
A woman in the second apartment told officers she saw the man when she exited her vehicle at the building, and he began yelling at her and chased her into her apartment. She said the man banged on her door and screamed obscenities prior to his forcing entry into the other apartment.
RECEIVING AND TRANSFERRING STOLEN PROPERTY: Michelle Lee Slone, 38, of Huntington, was charged with felony receiving and transferring stolen property and misdemeanor driving with an expired license last weekend.
An officer on patrol Saturday evening in the 1300 block of Hal Greer Boulevard observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was confirmed to be the stolen vehicle.
BURGLARY: A 37-year-old woman reported forced entry into her home in the 200 block of Adams Avenue last Friday and the theft of $600 in electronics and $500 in jewelry.
LARCENY: A 30-year-old woman reported on Friday that, during the course of the past six months, someone has stolen $10,000 in jewelry and a camera worth $400. Police have a suspect.
The following information was provided by reports filed with the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
LARCENY: A 52-year-old woman reported someone stole $10,000 in jewelry from her home in the 6300 block of Roberto Drive in Huntington on Jan. 22. Deputies have a suspect.
BURGLARY: A 68-year-old man reported someone forced entry into his home in the 4800 block of Doss Hill Road in Barboursville and took $1,500 in firearms sometime last Thursday. The man also reported $600 in damage to his home.
The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail:
Rodney Stephen Smith, 27, was incarcerated Sunday evening. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with felony unlawful wounding, along with misdemeanor domestic battery and trespassing. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Joshua Brent Ross, 20, was incarcerated Sunday evening. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony receiving/transferring stolen property. Bond was $10,000.
