Patrolman promoted to corporal

February 01, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- An eight-year veteran of the Huntington Police Department received the rank of corporal Thursday during a ceremony at City Hall.

Jason Davis, 35, of Huntington, initially joined the force in September 2004. He is currently assigned to the detective bureau investigating property crimes. He will continue that assignment with the new rank.

Davis fills a vacancy left by the retirement of Cpl. Richard Knight, who recently retired to take a job with another government agency. Knight had been with the department since 1988.

Davis is the son of Mike Davis, a retired Huntington police officer and current director of Cabell County 911.

Huntington Police Officer Jason Davis was promoted to the rank of corporal on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Huntington City Hall.
