Seniors take advantage of free heart-healthy event
Seniors register for the Show Your Heart Some Love at Healthy Senior Wednesday event on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Huntington Mall in Barboursville.
Purchase this photoBARBOURSVILLE -- Area seniors got a head start on Valentine's Day on Wednesday, with a heart-healthy event sponsored by Cabell Huntington Hospital's Senior Services Department.
The focus of February's Healthy Senior Wednesday event, conducted at the Huntington Mall, was "showing your heart some love," through a cooking demonstration with healthy eating tips, free health screenings, opportunities to schedule screenings for vascular health and heart disease and more.
The program is an extension of the hospital's Senior Services department, which also offers SeniorWise, a free membership program offering educational programs and activities throughout the year.
