Man charged with felony assault, battery in stabbing
HUNTINGTON -- A Salt Rock man was arrested Thursday after he was accused of stabbing his wife in the leg during an altercation earlier in the week, Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas said.
Charles Michael Grieco, 40, was charged with felony malicious assault, felony battery and misdemeanor domestic assault, according to booking records at the Western Regional Jail.
Grieco chased his wife with a steak knife before stabbing her in the leg Wednesday night at their home along Smith Creek Road, McComas said. There were four children in the home at the time, McComas said.
Greico fled the scene before deputies arrived, and McComas said he could not speculate as to whether Greico was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The victim was treated on the scene by Cabell County EMS personnel, and deputies assisted in getting the woman and the children to a safe location, McComas said.
Grieco was incarcerated at the Western Regional jail on a $35,000 bond.
