Additional charges filed against shooting suspect
HUNTINGTON -- An additional charge has been filed against a man arrested in connection with a shooting incident earlier this week.
Lavanta Dejuan Burrell, 21, was charged with felony wanton endangerment Thursday in connection with a shooting that happened Wednesday along the 1100 block of 20th Street.
That charge is in addition to the attempted murder and terroristic threats charges he already faces in the incident.
In the new complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court, a Huntington Police detective said surveillance footage of the incident shows that when Burrell fired a handgun toward a vehicle traveling on 20th Street, people in several vehicles, who had no connection to the shooting, were forced to evade the gunfire.
Burrell remained incarcerated at the Western Regional Jail on Friday.
