Jul. 12, 2013 @ 12:20 PM

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Some online lessons are being offered to the men and women who aim to make visitors to West Virginia feel right at home.

The West Virginia University Extension Service is offering the program. Called "West Virginia Welcome," the hospitality training program offers lessons on how to put customers at ease, be personable and solve problems that might arise.

Upon completion of the 45-minute course, each participant will receive a hospitality certification from the extension service and the Department of Education's Hospitality Education and Training program.

Donna Wilkes is director of the hospitality training program. She says the training is aimed at ensuring employees are prepared to meet the customer's needs.
