Prestera offers tax credits for donations

December 06, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- The Prestera Foundation for Behavioral Health Services Inc. is again offering tax credits through the Neighborhood Investment Program.

Donors who contribute a minimum of $500 to the Prestera Foundation are eligible to receive up to 50 percent of their donation in tax credits to reduce liability for the corporate net income tax, business franchise tax or personal income tax. The total cost of the contribution may be lowered even further when used in conjunction with federal tax deductions.

Any business that contributes $1,000 or more will also receive a table for eight guests at Prestera's spring event, "A Tropical Escape, a benefit for Prestera Center," on April 13, 2013.

Each year, Prestera Center provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to more than 18,000 children, families and adults. More than 90 percent of Prestera's consumers fall below the poverty line, and the organization says state funding alone is not enough to offer effective services to those most needing help.

To learn how to take advantage of this program, call Traci Fricke at 304-525-7851, ext. 1510, or contact her via email at traci.fricke@prestera.org.

Correspondence may be sent to Prestera Foundation, P.O. Box 2672, Huntington, WV, 25726.
