Incident deemed unarmed robbery
HUNTINGTON -- Police are now classifying a late night robbery at Bailey's as "unarmed," according to a police report filed at the Huntington Police Department.
Cabell County 911 received word of the incident just before 9 p.m. Thursday at the local retailer, which is located in the 800 block of Washington Avenue. The employee told police an unknown man entered the store, went behind the counter and demanded money. The robber fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
The employee's initial report to dispatchers indicated the robber brandished a knife. No such mention was made in the filed police report.
Huntington Police K-9 units responded to the scene, but no arrest was immediately reported.
