Sexual assault awareness and prevention to be spotlighted
ASHLAND -- Pathways Rape Crisis Services will host a proclamation signing from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, March 25, at the Central Park Ampitheater in Ashland.
Mayor Chuck Charles will sign a proclamation declaring March as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention month in Kentucky.
The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention month is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence, according to a news release.
Event participants are encouraged to show their support by wearing a teal ribbon. Ribbons will be distributed at the proclamation signing.
The event is open to the public.
