Tri-State residents attend Easter services

Mar. 31, 2013 @ 11:33 PM

HUNTINGTON -- Tri-State residents packed into churches of all sizes to observe Easter Sunday.

Along Huntington's avenue of churches, streets were lined with cars and families dressed to the nines heading to the holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church celebrated Easter with special music by the Marshall University student brass quintet during its service titled "He is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed!"

In the program, the church created a special Memorial Honor Booklet so that the church families could celebrate and honor family members who have passed on.

At 16th Street Baptist Church, the Rev. Roy Terry and his congregation celebrated Easter with a program that culminated with a morning message called "It's Friday, But Sunday's Coming."
