Winter weather blamed for fatal W.Va. car crash

Jan. 26, 2013 @ 08:01 AM

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia State Police are blaming winter weather conditions on a fatal car accident in Boone County.

Officials say Rachel Vicker was killed Friday afternoon when the car she was in crashed head on into a truck. No one else was seriously injured.

WSAZ-TV reports that troopers say snow and ice on the road caused the accident on Route 3.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of West Virginia into Saturday evening.

Other media outlets report that the winter weather is creating hazardous road conditions.
