Marshall offering free youth program training
HUNTINGTON — Marshall University will host a hands-on workshop for educators and adults on Saturday, Feb. 9, that focuses on environmental activities that can be taught to children.
The free program will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Morrow Library Commons, and include a 30-minute lunch break. The program is focused on teachers taking lessons on animals into the classrooms. This year’s program is Growing Up Wild and is focused on children ages 3 to 7.
Activities will take place both inside and outside. Teachers are encouraged, but it is open to all adults. Each participant also will receive a free curriculum guide.
The event is free but requires pre-registration because space is limited. To sign up, send an email to abel2@marshall.edu. For more information about the program, visit www.projectwild.org/GrowingUpWILD.htm.
