$1M Powerball ticket sold in W.Va. still unclaimed
CHARLESTON — A winning $1 million Powerball ticket has yet to be claimed a month after it was sold at the Little General convenience store in Beckley.
But manager Hana Lilly tells the Charleston Daily Mail that hasn't stopped people from claiming it's theirs.
The winning numbers for the March 16 drawing were 3-7-21-44-55, and the Powerball number was 16.
The winning ticket matched each of the first five numbers.
Lilly says chances are good that an out-of-state driver bought the ticket while passing through. Or the buyer could have lost it.
West Virginia Lottery spokesman Randy Burnside it's rare for big prizes to go unclaimed.
But there's still time. The winner has until Sept. 16 to claim the prize.
