Camper's paradise
HUNTINGON — For Lynn Butler and the crew at Setzers World of Camping the Huntington Boat and RV Show is a must-go event each year.
Sure enough Setzers and a slew of other recreation businesses and vendors filled the Big Sandy Superstore Arena to the brim Friday night during the first night of the show, which lasts until Sunday.
The show annually is the first opportunity for local recreation businesses to debut the latest and greatest designs and models of boats, campers and everything a person needs to move and manage them.
"If an RV dealer doesn't come here, they probably aren't going to be able to start selling until April. This is where you go to see what's happening for the season, and put what you have out there," Butler said. "People are excited to see what's new. The off season for us is a very short. The camping season might end when it's not as warm, but people start shopping as soon as it gets cold. They are eager to get back out in the woods and have fun."
The 2012 Huntington RV & Boat Show will continue through Sunday, Jan. 29. Show times are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, and noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29.
