Huntington home damaged by fire
HUNTINGTON — A home at 839 Washington Ave. was heavily damaged by fire early Sunday morning in Huntington.
The cause of the fire, which start shortly before 5 a.m., is still under investigation by the fire marshal, said Capt. Jan Rader of the Huntington Fire Department.
Nobody was home at the time, she said.
The fire department responded to the blaze with three engine companies, a rescue truck and an aerial apparatus. The home was not fully involved when they arrived, but the fire flared up, causing substantial damage to the structure, Rader said.
