Eastern Ky candidate facing drug charges
PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A candidate for a sheriff’s position in eastern Kentucky has been arrested on drug charges.
It was reported that 42-year-old John Kline became caught in a sting operation run over the last 18 months.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Salyers says the investigation involved illegal prescription drug sales.
In March, Kline filed his statement of intent to run for Johnson County Sheriff.
Sheriff Dwayne Price says described Kline as a mid-level drug dealer who they say brought thousands of pills into the community from mulitple states.
Kline is being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention center on a $50,000 cash bond. Jail records did not list an attorney.
