Gas prices put more riders on TTA

March 21, 2011 @ 09:45 PM

HUNTINGTON -- The price of gasoline isn't the only thing that's been rising in recent weeks. As that number has edged its way upward of $3 and closer to $4, so has the number of passengers on Huntington's public transportation.

"The month of February was strong for TTA. It was up 8 percent (from last year)," said Paul Davis, general manager of the Tri-State Transit Authority. "There were 65,024 customers in February 2011, compared to 60,386 for February 2010."
