Two facing meth lab charges in Ashland
ASHLAND — One man were taken into custody Friday in Ashland by deputies with the Boyd County Sheriff’s Department Drug Task Force, and felony charges are pending against another.
Dwayne L. Hatten, 52, was arrested and faces a felony count of manufacturing methamphetamine at his residence in the 2900 block of Ohio Street. Deputies were following up on a tip and discovered eight meth labs, one of which was active.
Richard C. Smith, 47, who had been taken into custody as of Saturday morning, also is facing felony meth charges after a tip led to the discovery of an active meth lab at his residence in the 2100 block of Dixon Street.
A release from the sheriff’s office states that additional charges may be filed in both cases.
