Murder suspect arrested in Ky. returns to W.Va.
BARBOURSVILLE -- A Crum resident has returned to West Virginia to face a murder charge in Wayne County, according to records at the Western Regional Jail.
James Everett Marcum, 35, was incarcerated at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Wayne County already had charged him felony first-degree murder. Bond was denied.
Marcum was arrested Dec. 10 at an area hospital in Kentucky, where authorities held him on a fugitive charge.
The murder charge is linked to the Dec. 9 shooting death of James Ward. The 62-year-old died at his home on Jennies Creek in Crum.
Marcum was returned to West Virginia after the authorities completed the extradition process in Kentucky.
The West Virginia State Police conducted the investigation with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
