Wayne blotter: Man reports $31,000 cash stolen from safe in home

The following information was provided by reports filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office:

GRAND LARCENY: A 69-year-old man reported someone stole $31,000 in cash from a safe in his home while he was in the hospital on Dec. 11. The man and his wife said they were two of three people who know the combination to the safe, and they told deputies the third person fled the area after they spoke to him after the incident. Deputies have a suspect.

BURGLARY: A man living in the 1500 block of Spring Valley Drive reported he was away from his home overnight from Dec. 17 to Dec. 18 While he was gone, someone forced entry into his home and took at least $1,000 in antiques and collectible items.
