HUNTINGTON -- A 25-year-old man has been charged with trafficking crack cocaine in and around Huntington.

Tyree Antonio Spraggins is among three defendants named in indictments recently unsealed in U.S. District Court. Others face charges related to oxycodone abuse and proving false testimony.

Spraggins' indictment, filed last month, was unsealed with news of his Jan. 4 arrest in Huntington. It charges him with five counts of distributing crack cocaine.

Two of those incidents -- Oct. 27, 2010, and Nov. 9, 2010 -- involved at least 28 grams of crack cocaine. The others involved undisclosed amounts, all occurring in 2010 on Oct. 8, Nov. 17 and Dec. 8.

Spraggins is incarcerated at the Carter County Detention Center in Grayson, Ky., pending arraignment.

FALSE TESTIMONY: A single-count indictment charges Nadia Ann Carter with providing false testimony under oath. It pertains to testimony Carter provided Oct. 23, 2012, to a federal magistrate in Huntington. It concerned whether a specific suspect had resided at an address known for distributing dealer quantities of marijuana.

Carter, of Huntington, repeatedly testified the suspect lived with her continuously at her residence for approximately five years, according to a transcript within her indictment. In actuality, prosecutors allege the suspect lived at another residence.

Carter was served with a summons to appear in court next week.

PILLS: Authorities in Michigan have arrested a Detroit woman on charges she participated in a conspiracy to distribute oxycodone in Huntington.

The indictment, unsealed with Monday's arrest, charges Brittany Wesley-Taylor with conspiracy and possessing the drug with an intent to distribute.

Wesley-Taylor participated in the conspiracy from July 2009 to Oct. 15, 2009, in Huntington, the indictment states. The possession charge stems from an Oct. 15, 2009, incident in Huntington.
