Blotter: Man accused of making terroristic threats
The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:
TERRORISTIC THREATS: Chad Alan Blevins, 43, of Huntington was charged with felony terroristic threats earlier this week.
A person living in a building in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue reported a man said on Tuesday that he wanted to "get a bulletproof vest and get on the roof and shoot people." The person also told police the suspect did own a firearm.
BURGLARY: Officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of 28th Street just before 8 a.m. Thursday after being contacted by an alarm company. The homeowner met officers at the home after being contacted by the alarm company as well, and she discovered a door in her home had been pried open.
The alarm panel for the home had been torn off the wall, and two safes had been taken from the home. The safes were located in an abandoned house behind the residence, and they had been pried open.
The woman reported $4,990 in jewelry and collectible coins were missing from the safes.
FRAUD: An employee at City National Bank in the 1700 block of 5th Avenue reported a woman opened a checking account at the bank on Dec. 26 using a check that was made out to her for $1,450.67. At the time the account was opened, the woman deposited $450.67 and kept $1,000 in cash. The woman wrote two checks for the remaining balance later that day. Police have a suspect.
BATTERY: A 26-year-old woman reported she was involved in a verbal altercation with a man at a residence in the 1800 block of 8th Avenue Thursday morning, during which she told the man to leave or she would call police.
She said the man began punching her in the face, causing her glasses to break. The woman suffered a cut to her lip and lacerations to her face.
Police have a suspect.
BURGLARY: A 61-year-old man reported someone forced entry into his home in the 2300 block of Johnstown Road on Thursday and took $4,290 in jewelry.
The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Bryant Eugene Wilburn, 31, was incarcerated Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with three counts felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Bond was $140,000.
David Eugene Spears, 46, was incarcerated Thursday. Authorities in Putnam County charged him with felony possession of a stolen vehicle. Bond was $3,000.
Bryan Scott Maggard, 29, was incarcerated Thursday. Authorities charged him with a felony parole violation. Bond was denied.
