Allied Logistics recently donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts after Superstorm Sandy.

Allied Logistics conducted an employee giving campaign with the company matching funds that the employees raised. The storm affected 24 states.

"When Sandy devastated lives and entire communities, Allied Logistics and their employees stepped up to help the Red Cross bring much-needed relief," Becky Howard, chief development officer at the American Red Cross, said in a release.

The Red Cross responds to nearly 70,000 disasters each year and Allied Logistics has consistently done their part to help. Allied Logistics has partnered with the Red Cross during previous national and international disasters contributing more than $12,000 in past years.

In the first month that Sandy hit, the Red Cross provided more than 500 shelter stays in West Virginia, part of an overall shelter response that provided 158,000 shelter stays nationwide.
