She said a person came from behind and took the small purse off her wrist, reached in and took out $10 and then threw the purse on the street. The person then fled the area on foot.

FRAUDULENT USE OF ACCESS DEVICE: A Marshall University gas card was fraudulently used at several Marathon and Speedway locations between Jan. 7 and 21. The case is under investigation.

PETIT LARCENY: An employee reported that a checkbook was stolen from an office in the Science Building. The person was alerted by the bank that an attempt was made to cash a check. The theft occurred sometime in the past few weeks.

PETIT LARCENY: A student reported he was doing laundry in the Twin Towers East laundry room on Sunday and his wallet was stolen. In the following two days, his bank card had been used to make a purchase and to access $300 from his account. He found his wallet in front of his dorm room door on Tuesday, but the cash, bank card and driver's license were missing.
