Local groups present heart health awareness event

Purchase this photoHUNTINGTON -- In observing national Go Red For Women day on Friday, one local group of women sought to get to the "heart" of the movement.
Ebenezer Medical Outreach teamed up with the Huntington alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta to present the annual "Go Red for Women: A Heart Health Awareness Program" on Friday night at the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.
The event features a "Go Red" fashion show in addition to presentations from health, fitness and nutrition experts, which focus on tips for preventing heart disease.
The Mission of Ebenezer Medical Outreach, Inc. is to provide access to free, comprehensive health care, preventative care and pharmaceuticals to the underserved of the Fairfield West community of Huntington and the surrounding areas.
