MU hosts forum on firearms
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University's Student Government Association is sponsoring a firearms forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the multi-purpose room in the basement of the Memorial Student Center.
The forum will include a panel discussion led by Robert Bookwalter, dean of the College of Education. It was organized in response to recent crimes both locally and nationally, the political response to the gun violence and current regulations.
The panel is scheduled to include Huntington Mayor Steve Williams, Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook, Marshall University Police Chief Jim Terry and members of Marshall's faculty and local legislators.
The event also will include time for comments and questions.
