Tickets on sale for intimate, one-man show, 'Ed Asner as FDR'
HUNTINGTON — You’ve seen him in everything from “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” to the classic Will Ferrell Christmas movie, “Elf,” and now acting legend Ed Asner is going to college.
The seven-time Emmy Award-winning actor will bring to life America’s most iconic president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt as he stars in the national tour of “Ed Asner as FDR.”
The Marshall Artists Series and Guyan International presents the intimate one-man show at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.
Best known for his role as Lou Grant on both “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Lou Grant,” is in his fourth year starring in the solo performance drama, “FDR,” based upon Dore Schary’s Broadway hit “Sunrise at Campobello”, which ran 70 weeks on Broadway.
“FDR” explores the life of one of America’s best-loved presidents and the events and decisions that shaped a nation. This powerful play follows the iconic president as he reflects on his years in office, from inauguration to the trials of World War II.
