Man arrested in recent burglary
Wesley Roberts
HUNTINGTON — Authorities have arrested a Huntington man charging him with involvement in a recent burglary.
The criminal complaint identified the suspect as Wesley Ray Roberts, 23. He was charged with felony burglary and incarcerated on a $50,000 bond, according to the documents filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
The complaint charges Roberts had entered a home Tuesday in the 500 block of Roby Road. He fled with a laundry basket full of the victim’s property.
An incident report, filed at the Huntington Police Department, states a 37-year-old victim arrived home to find an unfamiliar vehicle sitting in front of his residence, the back door pried open and a man inside. The male victim confronted the burglar causing him to run with the stolen property.
The basket contained $300 in electronics, according to the incident report. It further states police later located the suspect vehicle a short time later at an apartment complex in Guyandotte, but the assailant was not found on the area.
