HUNTINGTON -- A Michigan man pleaded guilty this week to charges that he traveled to Putnam County to have sex with a 12-year-old girl, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court.

Ashlee Courtney Liebert, 33, of Whitmore Lake, Mich., entered the guilty plea Monday without benefit of an agreement with prosecutors.

U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the plea hearing and set sentencing for Feb. 11, 2013.

An indictment, filed in April, charged Liebert with crossing state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct. It included a notice for Liebert to forfeit a 2003 Honda Civic should he be convicted.

The initial criminal complaint, filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court, charged that Liebert traveled to northern Putnam County to meet the preteen in person, approximately five months after they became acquainted through Internet play of the video game "World of Warcraft."

The complaints had further charged Liebert and his alleged victim were found together in a vehicle early March 11 on Cross Creek Road near Buffalo. Both were nude or partially nude, the complaint stated.

Libert, in a subsequent conversation with investigators, admitted to sexual activity and touching, explaining he had fallen in love with the alleged victim even though he knew she was underage, the complaint stated. It further alleged an argument, pertaining to Liebert's knowledge that the alleged victim had been hanging out with a female friend, preceded his trip to Putnam County.

Liebert left his Michigan home at 6:30 p.m. March 10. He arrived at 1 a.m. the next day, where he picked up the alleged victim from the house of a friend of hers, the complaint states.

Authorities confiscated several computers in executing a search warrant at Liebert's residence in Michigan. The subsequent, forensic search revealed more than 600 images and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to a press release issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
