Local Lions Club to have Longaberger Bingo

November 01, 2008 @ 08:00 AM

A Longaberger Bingo is being sponsored by the Huntington Downtown Lions Club to raise money for vision and hearing projects.

The event will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at the VFW Post on Main Street in Guyandotte. Cost is $20 for 20 games and a hand-woven Longaberger basket will be awarded to the winner of each game. Baskets are being sponsored by club members and are filled with various things such as bath and body items, food, wine, coffee and DVDs. Additional cards for every game will be available for $1 each during the event.

There will be door prizes, and concessions will be provided by the VFW Post Auxiliary.

The Huntington Downtown Lions club was formed 86 years ago and is the second-oldest in West Virginia. Money raised from the Bingo will provide eye exams and glasses, hearing aids and eye surgeries for community residents who meet income guidelines.

Advance tickets are available from club members, and will also be sold at the door.
